Getting acquainted with the Land of their forefathers
Israel is completely new to our recently arrived new immigrant residents, Holocaust Survivors from the Ukraine. It is challenging for them to tour the land at their age. As a team, it’s our desire to show Israel to them, to make them love and appreciate their new home country, so they feel at home here.
A recent trip was to an interesting historical place called Caesarea. One of the residents said: “Thank you for organizing this trip for us! I have read so much about this place and now I can see it with my own eyes. It is a shame to live in the Holy Land and not to be able to see all these interesting places”.
We hope to organize many more trips in time to come.
Musical Buehler Family
Melodies touching souls
Music can touch our souls in ways that words never can. Lately, two different concerts of ICEJ related people were being held. One beautiful classical concert was given by Corine, sister of our ICEJ staff Ella, who is a professional violinist and came from the US to visit her sister. Many residents attended and the beautiful sounds from the violin and accompanying piano were such a balm for their souls and joy to their hearts. The love, beauty and professionalism touched many. The residents kept thanking us, even days after the concert.
“Everyone enjoyed the concert very much. The repertoire was chosen so well. Everyone listened with pleasure and understood the music that was in Corine’s heart to share. You have brought us great satisfaction and pleasure”, Yelena P. shared.
“Corine engaged us to sing along which increased our enjoyment of the concert. I would welcome more of such wonderful hours in our lovely place” were Renate’s words.
A musical family
The very musical Buehler family from Germany are not new to the Haifa Home. This is the second time they performed for our residents. We are grateful for our friends from the nations with talents to visit us and share their giftings with our residents. It brings great joy and pleasure to both sides.

Inspired by Samantha Rodriquez
Samantha is a 22-year-old young woman from Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in communication Sciences. Her greatgrandfather Moszko Stulman, from Międzyrzec Podlaski, came to Mexico before the war, but his family stayed in Poland.
In 2016 Samantha's family discovered that most of her ancestors had been killed in the Holocaust. With that discovery the family embarked on a search for their past by traveling to Poland in 2016 and 2017, visiting archives, cities, towns, villages and concentration camps where the family lived and suffered. This personal journey inspired Samantha to become the Founder and Director of “The Voice of the Silence”, (https://go.pardot.com/.../2023-07-06/2sbwl85/1341663832...) a platform with educational content, interviews etc. to teach the young generation about the Holocaust. While visiting Israel and discovering more of their roots, it was an honor for us to host Samantha, her mother and her grandparents in our Home and have them meet with different of our residents.
What an inspiring example of one young lady, Samantha. Inspired by the personal journey of her family as a teenager, she got a vision and started to run with it and is impacting many people around the world.

Dental Supplies with Love
Dr. Melinda Oquist, a dentist from California USA, with a love for Israel, visited our Home. Due to her desire to care for the dental health of our residents, she had filled a suitcase full of dental supplies and personally came by to deliver it.

熟悉他們祖先的土地

最近的一次旅行是去一個有趣的歷史名勝凱撒利亞。 一位居民說：「感謝你們為我們組織這次旅行！ 我讀過很多關於這個地方的文章，現在我可以親眼看到它了。 生活在聖地卻不能參觀所有這些有趣的地方是一種恥辱」。
我們希望今後能夠組織更多的旅行。
音樂劇布勒家族
旋律觸動心靈
音樂可以用語言無法比擬的方式觸動我們的心靈。最近，ICEJ相關人士舉辦了兩場不同的音樂會。 ICEJ 工作人員Ella的妹妹Corine舉辦了一場美妙的古典音樂會，她是一位專業小提琴家，從美國來看望她的妹妹。許多居民都參加了，小提琴和鋼琴伴奏的美妙聲音給他們的心靈帶來了安慰，給他們的心靈帶來了歡樂。愛、美麗和專業精神感動了很多人。即使在音樂會結束幾天後，居民們仍然不斷地感謝我們。
「每個人都非常喜歡這場音樂會。 劇目選得真好。 每個人都高興地聆聽並理解了 Corine 內心想要分享的音樂。 你們給我們帶來了極大的滿足和快樂」，Yelena P. 分享道。
