ICEJ marches from Aushwitz to Skalite to take part of the Vrba Wetzler Memorial Walk
Last week for 5 full days straight, the ICEJ team marched on the footsteps of two Slovak Jews who escaped from Auschwitz during the Holocaust. Along with 33 other participants from various nations, the group walked 110km from Auschwitz to Skalite and got the train from Skalite to Ziilina - exactly how Rudolf Vrba and Alfred Wetzler travelled and were transported back in April 1944. The countries represented were from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Zimbabwe, Israel, Holland, and Germany.
