Eilat, Israel
The ICEJ recently helped set up several classrooms in the hotels in Eilat, where evacuees have been temporarily living since the Otc. 7 attack by Hamas. It will still be some time before they can return home. However, evacuee children still need to attend school and have a normal life during this war time.
It is also essential that the parents have some time to rest and recover from the stress. Some parents need to receive PTSD treatment during the day while their children are in class.
ICEJ’s effort to support Israel’s PTSD treatment needs:
1. Strengthening medical teams: providing training and trauma support to doctors and nurses in the periphery treating wounded Israelis
2. Providing emotional support and trauma therapy to evacuated teens and young adults at risk
