Isaiah 62 Prayer Campaign
Dear Prayer Partners,

This past weekend, Jewish people worldwide read the book of Ruth as part of their Shavuot holiday. One of the most moving pledges of loyalty in the Bible appears above, when Ruth vows to follow her mother-in-law Naomi as she returns from exile in Moab back to Judea.

Those of us who love God and stand with His people, in both good times and bad, often are asked by Israelis: ‘Why are you blessing our nation? What keeps you here? Why the sacrifice?’ They recognise this is a tough neighbourhood and are puzzled why we stay by their side!

Indeed, there has been much tension and turmoil in Israel of late. The recent round of rocket attacks in southern Israel reminded us of this once again, as some 1500 rockets rained down on Israeli cities. Over the years, the ICEJ has placed 191 bomb shelters in vulnerable communities, with another six waiting to be delivered soon. These shelters let Israelis know they are not alone. When we provide educational opportunities for young people so they can get good jobs, or upgrade a children’s home, or offer vocational training to new immigrants – we assure them that we care. It is like saying: “Your people are my people.”

Lately, it has been stressful on many fronts and Israel seems to be at a crossroads. The Community Stress Prevention Center (CSPC) recently reported a 40% increase in applications for treatment. The director, Yiftach Benbenisti, noted: “We have reached a new peak where people who have never called for help before … are now calling with fears, anxiety, depression, and most of all helplessness about when it will all end.” It is at times like this that one wants friends and family close by.

And it is in these tough times that our support is more deeply felt, and we can show our firm commitment and friendship. As one Israeli friend recently asked with great perplexity, “Why are you doing all this for us?” “Because we love Israel”, did not seem a good enough answer for him, so he repeated the question with even greater intensity… “Why?” Though it may make no logical sense to them, the “why” is simply that we have been very blessed through the Jewish people – so we want to bless them in return. Also, we love the God of Israel and are excited to work alongside Him in the role He has given us. We are to be ‘Watchmen on the walls’ (Isaiah 62:6); to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6); to carry them home on Aliyah (Isaiah 49:22-23); to help them settle here in the Land (Jeremiah 32:41); to comfort them (Isaiah 40:1-2) and to build the walls of Zion (Isaiah 60:10). Thank you for your prayers and generosity of heart, as together we continue the legacy of Ruth – Gentiles choosing to be faithful as close family to this people and to serve our God together.

親愛的禱告夥伴們，
上週末，世界各地的猶太人在五旬節期間再次誦讀路得記。路得記 1:16-17a的經文可說是聖經中最動人的忠誠承諾之一。路得起誓要跟隨她的婆婆拿俄米，從摩押流亡地返回猶大。而我們這些愛上帝，與祂的子民站立的人也經常被以色列人問到：「你們為什麼祝福我們的國家？是什麼使你們留在這裡？為什麼要如此奉獻？」他們知道這是一個不容易的地區，因此對我們留在他們身邊感到不解！

事實上，以色列最近出現很多緊張和動盪。最近一輪的火箭炮襲擊再次提醒我們這個國家的艱難。短短幾天裡，大約有 1500 枚火箭落在以色列城市上。多年來，ICEJ 在易受攻擊的社區建置了191個防空避難所，另外還有6個即將交付。這些避難所讓以色列人知道他們並不孤單。

當我們為年輕人提供教育機會，讓他們能夠獲得好的工作，或者改善兒童之家，也為新移民提供職業培訓，我們向以色列承諾我們關心他們。這就像是在說，“你的百姓就是我的百姓。”

正是在這些艱難的時刻，我們的支持更觸動人心，我們可以展示我們堅定的承諾和友誼。最近一位以色列朋友很不解地問我，“你們為什麼為我們如此付出？”對他來說，“因為我們愛以色列”似乎不是個夠好的答案，所以他重複有問了一次“為什麼？”...... 對他們來說，儘管這可能不合邏輯，但答案很簡單，就是透過猶太人，我們領受到極大的祝福，
所以我們想要回報祝福他們。此外，我們愛以色列的上帝，對於能在祂賜予我們的角色中與祂同工，我們倍感興奮。我們渴望成為“城上的守望者”（以賽亞書 62:6），為耶路撒冷求平安（詩篇 122:6），帶他們回到故土（以賽亞書 49:22-23），幫助他們在這片土地上安頓下來（耶利米書 32:41），安慰他們（以賽亞書 40:1-2），並建造錫安的城牆（以賽亞書 60:10）。

(㇐) 為以色列禱告

為以色列邊境蒙保護禱告：為以色列百姓和國家安全禱告，特別是為保護以色列免受伊朗及其區域代理恐怖組織的威脅。同時為以色列國內的平安和國民之間的和睦禱告。 （詩篇122:6；創世記 15:18；詩篇 147:14）
為以色列的領導者禱告：求主賜給以色列的政府和屬靈領袖智慧的心，使他們在所做的一切事上轉向主，引導百姓行公義、敬畏上帝。 （歷代志上 1:11-12；雅各書 1:5）

為以色列的彌賽亞信徒禱告：為以色列當地的信徒團體祝福，祝福他們多結果子且信心堅定，並免於近期在政府和公眾中，極端宗教勢力對他們的騷擾和傷害行動。同時也為以色列境內的基督徒和基督徒聚會場地蒙保護禱告。為耶路撒冷能繼續成為“萬民禱告的殿”禱告。 （使徒行傳 4:31；以弗所書 3:8-21；以賽亞書 56:7）

(二) 為中東地區和世界禱告

為以色列和沙烏地阿拉伯之間的和平禱告：請禱告，以色列和沙烏地阿拉伯之間的正常化關係的持續努力能夠迅速取得成果。並且以色列無需在安全或在她的聖經產業上——特別是耶路撒冷——作出危險的讓步。 （以賽亞書 41:11-12；以賽亞書 62:6-7）

請為全球的疫苗分送和疫情結束禱告：為世界各地的疫苗分送工作禱告，尤其是那些經濟薄弱的國家，求主加速疫苗接種進程，保護和拯救生命，並終結這場全球疫情帶來的痛苦和恐懼。 （詩篇 67:1-2；馬太福音 4:23）
為中東和平禱告：求主在中東地區帶來和平，解決衝突，減輕人民的苦難，並將祂的愛和真理啟示給所有尋求和平和正義的人。 （詩篇 85:10-11；馬太福音 5:9）

(三) 為耶路撒冷國際基督徒使館（ICEJ）禱告

為耶路撒冷國際基督徒使館在全球的事奉禱告：為耶路撒冷國際基督徒使館在各地的使命、援助和回歸工作禱告，求主保護並祝福我們的團隊，使我們能夠持續服事上帝對以色列和猶太百姓的心意。 （以賽亞書 40:31；以弗所書 6:19-20）
為耶路撒冷國際基督徒使館的領導者及同工禱告：為耶路撒冷國際基督徒使館的領導者、同工禱告，求主加倍祝福他們的智慧、力量和恩膏，使他們能夠在這個關鍵時刻一起為以色列和全地的救恩工作盡上心力。 （以弗所書 1:15-23；歌羅西書 1:9-12）
