Kfar Aza, southern Israel, near the Gaza border
"It doesn't feel real. It's like in an action movie but after the action, without cameras, actors, stunts... You see the remains, remains of terrible actions which actually happened here.
My brain hardly caught it. It was as IDF spokesperson Maya was telling us about one of the couples which lived in the first house that the reality of what happened struck me.
The couples are not here (in these houses, all residents were either kidnapped or murdered). In their home were only a destroyed washing machine, glass shattered from bullets in the kitchen cupboard and holes on the walls caused by grenades.
They wanted to start a new life here. Instead this happened.
I am praying for restoration. Next time when I will take photos of this kibbutz, prayerfully we will see beautiful houses, kids playing around and reunited families, and this place will be a symbol of God RESTORING all things and even making them more beautiful."

他們想在這裡開始新的生活。 相反，這件事發生了。
我正在祈禱恢復。下次當我拍攝這個基布茲的照片時，祈禱我們會看到美麗的房子，孩子們玩耍，家人團聚，這個地方將成為上帝恢復萬物，甚至讓它們變得更加美麗的象徵。”
