ISAIAH 62 PRAYER INITIATIVE
Prayer Letter for February 2019

“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
(Matthew 6:9-10)

Dear prayer partners,
As I write these words, we are busy hosting pastors from close to 30 nations at the ICEJ Envision Pastors and Leaders Conference in Jerusalem. This year’s Conference has been full of solid Bible teaching as well as insights from community leaders located throughout the land of Israel. We heard from a wide variety of local leaders: those who are living close to the Gaza strip, rabbis, journalists who gave us updates about what is happening today in Israel, and many more.
As the community leaders discussed how Israel has overcome some of the biggest challenges in recent years to become a successful nation, they were also aware that Israel’s success and protection is due to the faithful prayers of Christians from all around the world.
I was amazed to see that even Israeli community leaders were aware of the fact that prayers of the saints are effective. So, I encourage you to continue to pray with us for the nation of Israel.
Jesus taught us to pray by saying to God: “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The will of God is very clearly explained to us in the word of God, when He speaks about the restoration of Israel. God speaks about Israel’s deserts turning green, cities being rebuilt, the nation becoming a blessing for the world, and most importantly that God is going to pour out His Spirit over Israel.
Therefore, we encourage you to pray according to God’s will as it is in Heaven. And may God’s word manifest itself in Israel on earth as it is described and declared in Heaven. Israel sees that the prayers of Christians are indeed blessing them and protecting them. Thank you for continuing to stand with us in prayer!

PRAYER POINTS
For February 2019
The next day of prayer and fasting in our Isaiah 62 Global Prayer Campaign will be on Wednesday, 6 February 2019. Please join us!

1. Pray for Israel

Elections in Israel
With less than three months until elections to appoint the next Israeli Prime Minister, candidates have begun gearing up with their campaign strategies. Let us pray for clarity and wisdom for the different parties to make clear stands on the critical political, security, and economic challenges facing the country. Pray for Israel to have ears to hear and follow the leadership of God.
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” (Jeremiah 30:21)
Ethiopian Aliyah
This month we are excited to receive the first group of 300 Ethiopian Jews for the year of 2019. The Israeli government has approved 1,000 Ethiopian Jewish immigrants to make Aliyah this year, so we also look forward to welcome all of these Jews return their homeland of Israel! Join us in praying for these families to have a safe journey from Ethiopia to Israel with no delays or setbacks. Also pray for finances for the ICEJ to help them with the absorption process.
“I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them.” (Amos 9:14)

2. Pray for the Nations
Innovation and standing with Israel
God has truly blessed the nation of Israel, and we see his favour in Israeli innovation. A team of Israeli scientists recently discovered a possibility of a cure for cancer. There were also two major German car companies that partnered with Israel to build a research site in Israel to develop new technology to manufacture self-driving cars. Therefore, let us pray that Israel would continue to rise to be the centre for research and development, and that global companies relying on Israeli ingenuity would start to take a stand for Israel.
“He has filled them with skill to do all manner of work of the engraver and the designer and the tapestry maker, in blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen, and of the weaver—those who do every work and those who design artistic works.” (Exodus 35:35)
Iran hiding in Syria
In the region, Iran is determined to continue to build a militant network inside Syria. Israeli and Russian officials have been meeting to coordinate their militaries. Let us pray that Russia would clearly see that Iran is undermining their positions and that Moscow would take a firm stand in demanding that all Iranian forces would leave Syria. Pray that God would thwart the plans of the enemy and protect the nation of Israel.
“Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.” (Isaiah 8:10)

3. Pray for the ICEJ
The big move for ICEJ Headquarters
The ICEJ has finally found a temporary home here in Jerusalem and move into the new building at the end of this month. We are in great need of your prayers for this detailed process of cleaning out the old and moving into the new. Pray for grace and peace for the ICEJ staff as we continue to work, move, and transition into a new season with the Lord together. Also pray for finances and other resources required for this major move. Thank you for standing with us in faith believing our new facilities will represent the love of Christ here in the city of Jerusalem.

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” (2 Peter 1:2)

Thank you for joining with us in prayer!
